Finally from today Goods and Services Tax (GST) has come into force. GST has become of the most talked and discussed topic in entire India from a month now soon after it was launched. Where previously there were a number of taxes that people had to pay indirectly. But now after the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax all such indirect taxes have been abolished. Here are list of items under 28% GST tax slab.

Goods and Services tax consists of 4 tax slabs which  are – GST No tax slab5% tax slab in GST, 12% GST tax slab, 18% GST tax slab and 28% GST tax slab. There are exception as well to Goods and Service Tax (GST). Gold and rough diamond are excluded from these tax slabs and tax will be charged at the rate 3% and 0.25% respectively.

Goods with 28% Tax 

Following items will come under the GST tax slab 28% –

Bidis, chewing gum, molasses, chocolate not containing cocoa, waffles and wafers coated with choclate, pan masala, aerated water, paint, deodorants, shaving creams, after shave, hair shampoo, dye, sunscreen, wallpaper, ceramic tiles, water heater, dishwasher, weighing machine, washing machine, ATM, vending machines, vacuum cleaner, shavers, hair clippers, automobiles, motorcycles, aircraft for personal use also will be charged with 28% tax.

Services with 28% Tax 

Following services come under the tax slab of 28% –

Private-run lotteries authorised by the states, hotels with room tariffs above Rs 7,500, 5-star hotels, race club betting, cinema will attract tax 28 per cent tax slab under GST under 28 per cent GST tax slab.
